History

Summary

Mordrek Drăculea, firstborn of Vlad III and Morgana, was born under a dark omen. He inherited his mother’s intelligence and his father’s ambition, becoming a scholar of blood, souls, alchemy, and forbidden magic while Alucard trained for war.

A constant insecurity grew inside him: he feared Vlad would choose Alucard as heir. Blinded by envy and hunger for approval, Mordrek began searching for a power that would raise him above every rival.

Ancient manuscripts led him to Nocturna, a lost relic able to resonate with the soul and bend reality. In the Carpathian catacombs, he found a living black shard of that artifact and began increasingly dangerous experiments.

The shard allowed him to alter memories, manipulate perception, and influence wills. In arrogance, he used those gifts on his own family, distorting Alucard’s memories and sealing Selena’s mind away from forbidden knowledge.

On the eve of the great war, Mordrek performed a ritual with the shard of Nocturna. The invocation of Void energy broke loose, opening an infernal portal through which Azrael’s army entered the mortal world. Vlad died in battle, and Mordrek fled with Nocturna in his hands.

In exile, Nocturna slowly corrupted him. Later, Azrael approached him in disguise and promised absolute power if he created a talisman able to channel Nocturna’s energy. Thus the prototype of the Void Talisman was born.

Guided back to Transylvania, Mordrek found Alucard alive and met Luna. When Luna confessed that she loved Alucard, Nocturna’s darkness consumed Mordrek completely.

He transformed Alucard into a vampire, triggering the frenzy that ended Luna’s life. Alucard defeated him and tore Nocturna away, unleashing a storm that devastated the valley.

Since then, Mordrek has vanished. Some say his soul waits for the moment to return and reclaim what he believes was always his: Nocturna and his father’s throne.
